Fieldstone House LLC - A Portals Spotlight On Self-Employment

When you have a passion for what you do, that is often the most important factor in the successes you have. For Tyler Martin, his passion is for creating and updating homes to add beauty and functionality, so he started Fieldstone House LLC. One look at their Facebook page shows off the craftsmanship and style they bring to the community. Whether it’s during a brand new build like in the pictures above, or a remodel job, Tyler is particularly attune to the small details that make a home look and feel updated for today’s buyer. Tyler says the inspiration for the business, “comes from my desire to create and build.”

Tyler was looking to turn his hobby into a full-time business and worked with his local Vocational Rehabilitation office to get the support his business needed to succeed. When asked about his experience with the self-employment program at Vocational Rehabilitation, Tyler says, “Do your homework on the vetting process, if you do a pro-forma (financial statement), make sure the numbers reflect your own knowledge of the business.”

When asked about his working relationship with Portals, Tyler said, “Portals does a nice job of creating support for many aspects of a new business.”
